No you didn't? But that doesn't mean she should've, like i said, they were friends who could've potentially married if given more time but they were still friends though (this makes more sense as) she wouldn't wait 15 years just for him, they both would've wanted her to move on in life. Plus it could've been longer than 15 years, or he could've never woken up at all, they never knew from the start it was 15 years so they had no clue. So then it would be quite pointless to wait.

I understand that's it's a little painful, even for them to move on and that but it's the most realistic way.

The relationships between the main cast aren’t what made the ending awkward. The last 4ish episodes cover as much source material as the rest of the series. It was all crammed together in an attempt to make it fit into one season, which it did an okay job at, but it could have easily been improved by giving it more screen time

Ending was complete and utter garbage. Brought the series down from a 8.5 to a 5 for me.
I have 2 main problems with it.
Airi has not been fleshed out at all and is 17 so it's pretty fuckin creepy, that she would end up with Satoru.

2nd the cucking. I don't mean that Satoru was literally cucked by Kayo hooking up with his friend. But that the show cucked the viewers, making us invested in their relationship with most stuff pointing at them ending together only to bring that shit ending and throw as much salt on the wound as possible.

Personally, I did want them to get together. After hearing how Kayo was still waiting him until Satoru’s mother to her to stop and move on, I understand the ending. It does make sense, it would be very difficult emotionally to have to wait for someone wake up in 15 years. I couldn’t imagine having to go through something like that in real life. The fact that Kayo got together with a friend though was just like ugh. Like, if you don’t get together with the person who saved your life, at least don’t get together with one of his friends. Even though many people say that it ruined the show, Erased is still one of my favorite anime. The beginning & middle of the show carried and still makes this show a 9/10 for me.
